Diese Übersetzung ist eine Neuheit. Bisher wurde noch kein Bibelteil in die Ostpreußische Sprache übersetzt. Nun hat Werner Gitt das Johannes-Evangelium und einige ausgewählte Psalmen in seine Muttersprache übersetzt.
Da es keine festgelegte Schriftsprache gibt, hat er sich dazu entschieden, die Wörter so zu schreiben, dass sie auch von einem Nicht-Ostpreußen beim Lesen fast richtig ausgesprochen werden. Auf diese Weise sind nicht nur die noch in Ostpreußen Geborenen angesprochen, sondern auch jene Nachfahren, die ein gewisses Interesse an der Sprache der Eltern bzw. Großeltern mitbringen.
